About DAS Calc
Built to explain, not just calculate
DAS Calc started because dimensional analysis went from being manageable to becoming one of the most frustrating parts of chemistry for me. I liked it at first, and then semester two hit. Suddenly it was everywhere, and I was tired of seeing it in every chapter.
I love building projects, whether they are for me, for other people, or just because an idea refuses to leave me alone. So instead of continuing to hate dimensional analysis, I decided to build something that could actually help with it. That became Dimensional Analysis Solutions.
This calculator has grown into a real passion project for me. I spent hours, days, weeks, and months building it and adding as many conversions and chemistry tools as I could. Along the way I learned a lot, from working with regex for molar mass recognition to setting up Render, using virtual environments, and learning Git more seriously.
DAS Calc is not just a calculator to me. I want it to be a tool that helps people follow the process, understand the steps, and feel less overwhelmed by dimensional analysis. That is what makes it different from a calculator that only spits out an answer.
This is my favorite project I have built so far. It is the most interesting, the most difficult, and the most time-consuming one, but it is also the one I care about most. I am proud to be the creator of this calculator, and I plan to keep improving it as it grows.
Special thanks
